Wadaiko and Black Gospel

This is a trailer for Ride On. A fusion of Wadaiko and Black Gospel by Hallelujah Gospel Family and Matsuriza Wadaiko. I can't put up the whole video for now because Studio: Re is making a music video for it.

This was a fun video to edit. Especially because I was in the camera crew during the concert, I could see what was happening and by the time I had to edit the video, I already knew what I wanted and how it should be edited. The sad part, though, was that one of the cameras we used didn't have the first part of the footage. Either the camera guy was changing tapes or the guy who captured the footage accidentally deleted it.

Anyway, the fusion of what is so Japanese (Wadaiko) and Black Gospel (totally unrelated to Japan) was an amazing accomplishment. The audience was completely struck speechless. However, this was just the beginning.

Ken Taylor, director of the choir said that this was the beginning. The next stage will be so much better as the will be writing a song dedicated to this fusion. It will be exciting to see that take place.
